Kadoma, Zimbabwe – Edward Chitivha (28), a resident of Tolrose Compound in Kadoma, appeared before the Kadoma Magistrates Court facing charges of bestiality.
The incident, which occurred on 12 August 2024, has left the local community in shock.
According to court documents, the complainant, Isheunesu Shangudze (40), had penned his five goats at around 16:00 hours on the day of the incident at Plot 9, Blagdon Farm, Eiggel Flats.
During the night, Chitivha allegedly entered the goat pen, removed his clothes, and placed them on the ground.
He then proceeded to tie the legs of a white female goat to a pole before violating the animal.

Shangudze, who was sleeping in his house nearby, was alerted to the situation when he heard the distressed cries of the goat.
Upon investigating, he spotted Chitivha, who immediately fled the scene, leaving his clothes behind.
The matter was reported to the police, and Chitivha was subsequently arrested. He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again on 17 September 2024.
The case has drawn significant attention, with many calling for justice to be served.
Bestiality is a serious crime under Zimbabwean law, and if convicted, Chitivha could face severe penalties.
Authorities have urged the public to report any similar incidents and maintain vigilance in their communities to prevent such acts of cruelty.
