In a heartbreaking incident early this morning, a Mzansi Express bus traveling from Zimbabwe to Johannesburg overturned on the N1 motorway near Makhado, South Africa. The accident, which occurred just after midnight, has tragically claimed the lives of ten people and left thirty others injured.
The bus, driven by a man unfamiliar with the area, was reported to have been speeding when it approached a roundabout.
The driver’s inability to navigate the roundabout safely caused the vehicle to lose control and overturn, leading to the devastating crash.

Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC Violet Mathye has confirmed the tragic outcome of the accident.
According to Mathye, the ten deceased—five men and five women—were all foreign nationals. The accident also left twelve passengers in serious condition, and they have been rushed to various hospitals in Makhado for urgent medical attention.
Mathye expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and urged all motorists to exercise caution while driving, particularly in unfamiliar areas.
